Christmas at the Cabin!

Elk crossing a field right behind the cabin. It was awesome!

This is what we woke up to the day after x-mas.

Kasey and Kyle jamming to ACDC Rock Band. I think it was a little too real for them.

I love this picture of my mom, dad, and Heather all crying over a book Heather had written for them.

Kayla unwrapping clothes, and more clothes.

Morgan in her new Hollister coat.

Kyle with his new microscope from Santa.

Kolton checking out his new bike on x-mas morning.

Mom, Brexton and Kayla on x-mas eve.

Koltons face was an icecicle after Carter took him on a wild sled ride behind the 4-wheeler.

We had a pretty ideal Christmas this year. We were at my parents warm cozy cabin in the mountains with all my family but Darci. It snowed x-mas eve, and all of x-mas day. So much so that we were literally snowed in. We had lots of fun, food & laughter for 2 -1/2 days. We missed you Darc!

My Baby's 8!

We celebrated Kolton's 8th birthday on Dec. 12. All he wanted to do for his birthday was go see the lights at Temple Square. We went up Friday night and opened presents at G-ma & G-pa Petersen's, went to eat, and then went to Temple Square. It was surprisingly warm, and Kolton kept saying, "I can't believe I am here!" He loved it all! We had a fun time. I love you Koltie!

O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree

It is a family tradition to cut down our own Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We had so much fun searching for, finding, and cutting down the perfect tree. Putting it up, decorating it, and keeping it alive has been a different story! We had to wire our tree to the wall in 2 places to get it to stay up, after it fell twice. None of the lights worked, and I'm pretty sure the tree is dead. Kyle & Kolton's tree went up easily, and looks cute though. Just call us the Grizwald's!

Thanksgiving

Well, my first attempt at hosting Thanksgiving seems to have been a success. I was so nervous, but everyone was a huge help, and it all came together how I wanted it to. We had a fun, relaxing day. We all ate a ton, and our Dallas Cowboys even won!
P.S. Thanks for eating my sweet potatoes Jason!

My Boys

It was our Primary Program yesterday. They usually make me a little teary eyed, but this year Kolton was so onery and didn't want to do it, so he stood behind the tallest girl in our primary during every song so we couldn't see him sing. What a stinker! Kyle was as proud as ever, and sang well. These two boys are polar opposites. I'd like to think that Kyle is more like me. I'm sure Grandma Peggy would agree that Kolton is Kasey's clone.

Kyle and Valintine (Val-en-teen)

So Kyle has made a new friend, Valintine, pronounced like above. He begged me for weeks to have him come play. We went to pick him up, and I was humbled by the way he lived. 8 people living in a run down little trailer, which his mom keeps spotless.
The first thing Kyle said to Kasey when we walked through the door was "Hi Dad, this is Valintine, and he lives in a trailer." All we heard from the play date was Kyle trying to imitate Valintine's Spanish accent, and now when we read scriptures he tries to pronounce words he doesn't know with a Spanish accent. So funny! (It doesn't help that my children would rather watch Nacho Libre than eat or breathe.
Yesterday Kyle said to me: "Mom, Valintine is so lucky! He can just hook his house up to a truck and move to a different trailer park whenever he wants. I wish I could do that!

Halloween

Hallloween seems to be such a busy day at our house. With Mog's birthday, school carnival, trunk-or-treat, and then trick-or-treating we're all pretty thrashed by the end of the day. My boys each had 2 costumes this year. Kolton was originally supposed to be Anikan Skywalker, but he came home from school the day before Halloween crying because he had convinced himself that nobody would know who he was. We ran to K-mart and bought a 50% off vampire cape, so that everyone would know what he was at the school carnival. Kyle was a clone trooper from Star Wars, but after the school carnival he wanted to be the Vampire and get his face painted, so we did a total costume change for Trick-or-Treating. Kolton reverted back to Anikan and Kyle was a Vampire! Morgan dressed as Cyndi Lauper, and Kayla is all grown up, and didn't wear a costume this year.

Morgan's Birthday!

Morgan turns 14 tomorrow. We had her family party tonight so she could be with friends on Halloween. She seemed to have a lot of fun. She got spoiled by everyone, as usual.

Kayla Sue

My Kayla is now driving! She turned 15 on Sept. 27, and passed her learners test with flying colors. Now she wants to drive everywhere. She's doing well, and has even driven her Dads car.

I'm A Blogger

I have been at my sister's house since Wednesday helping her with her new baby. She talked me into starting a blog, so here goes nothing!
